Who can become a member of the Latin American Coalition?
Any adult who is part of the community and wants to contribute, support our mission, or connect with the Coalition can become a member.
You may also become a member when acquiring one of our services or programs, as long as you are 18 years or older.
Is membership required to receive services?
No, membership is not required to receive services.
However, members gain access to additional benefits such as free legal screenings, course discounts, and priority access to programs.
Can I become a member even if I’m not currently using services?
Yes. Membership is also a way to support the Coalition and help sustain community programs.
Is membership individual or can I enroll someone else?
Membership is individual, personal, and non-transferable. You may pay for someone else, but the membership will be associated with that person only.
Can membership or its benefits be transferred?
No. Membership and benefits are not transferable, although some benefits may extend to minor direct family members when applicable.
What benefits do members receive at the Immigration Legal Center?
Members receive their first legal screening free and may access special rates for select low-cost legal services.
Do benefits apply to my family?
Membership is for one person. Some benefits may extend to minor direct family members depending on the service.
How can I pay my membership?
You can pay online, by credit/debit card, bank account, or in person (cash accepted).
How do I find my membership number?
It is located on the back of your membership card, under the barcode, and starts with a capital “C”.
How do I receive my membership card?
You can choose home delivery or pick it up at the Coalition.
Why is it important to provide my correct address and phone number?
To avoid delays and ensure communication, especially since most updates are sent via text
Is my personal information protected?
Yes. Your information is private and never shared with third parties.
Can I update my address or check my card status?
Yes. Email us at membershipLAC@mylac.org for more information.
Can I request other services once I’m a member?
Yes. You can request your Community ID, schedule your first legal screening, and access additional benefits.
